the Manual Indexable Probe (MIP) and the Manual Indexable Head (MH8).
Both were designed to bring a level of automation to manual CMMs.
They offer much of the speed, ease and efficiency of a motorized
head,
but with the cost economies of a manual unit. Highly repeatable
indexing
and 2-axis movement allow them to greatly reduce inspection times.

position. With Renishaw's MIP or MH8, simply qualify probe positions
once - at setup - then run the entire inspection routine without
any further
delays of requalifying.
MIP Probe/Head
The Manual Indexable Probe is an integrated probe and head unit
that
can be easily indexed to 168 different angles with 1.5 micron repeatability.
It can handle stylus lengths up to 60mm, yet the entire unit is
just 3" high,
allowing larger parts to be inspected, by maximizing the working
volume.
MH8 Head
A Manually Indexable Probe Head with repeatable indexing. The
MH8 can
be used with your conventional TP2 or the all new TP20 probe with
up to
50mm extension.
TP20 Probe
The TP20 Probe lets you change stylus without requalification!
This innovative new idea comprises a probe body with a separate,
detachable probe module containing the touch sensor and stylus.
The module is held in position on the probe by a magnetic, highly
repeatable coupling, providing enhanced crash protection. It automatically
disengages itself from the probe before any damage is done! The
probe
modules are available in standard, medium, and extended force versions.
